WILD CAMP SERVICES (W.C.S)
To understand W.C.S. lets define WILD Camping - It is the term given to primitive camping at an unestablished backcountry site off-trail without fee utilizing self-sustaining equipment, recreating lawfully & leaving no trace.
Wild Camping can also be termed as Dispersed, Stealth, Leave No Trace (LNT), Dry Camping or Bivouacking. This kind of camping is usually done in Wild Places with little to no civilian facilities or public services. Simply pack in/out everything you need.
Many considerations develop into the planning & execution of Wild Camping as a whole. A combination of Hiking, Backpacking, Survival, Bushcraft & Woodsmanship all play a part in todays adaptation of Wild Camping.
We utilize 10 - Wild Camp Site Suitability Criteria, taken from working Forestry & Geospatial industry principles, practices & techniques to effectively locate wild campsites & recreational areas of interest to explore.
We offer several services to a wide range of outdoor experience & skill levels - all pertinent information you need to be lawful, safe, confident & self-sufficient in the southern backwoods.

In choosing Wild Camp Services, we assume a few things about U
You are a healthy enough individual capable of making rational, safe & common sense decisions/judgements based on your own individual outdoor and mental skills who requires consultation on the facets of outdoor sustainability for prolonged recreation purposes to insure a satisfying, stress free and remote soul-boosting adventure.
You have or can obtain at least minimal enough gear to meet the essential 5 C’s of Survivability.
Cover (ie. tent, tarp, hammock, bivy).
Container (ie. water, food, backpack).
Cordage (bankline, paracord, rope).
Cutting Tool (ie. knife, saw, axe, hatchet).
Combustion (ie. fire starting, matches, lighter, ferro rod).
You have a well functioning/maintained mode of transportation to & from wild places.
Can read and utilize a Compass/Azimuth.
You have adequate computing/mobile device experience & skills.
You have a safety plan/emergency contacts set in place should you not return from your Wild Camp Adventure.
Let’s briefly discuss some realistic considerations/questions in planning/preparing for a Southern Wild Camp Adventure.
General knowledge of the outdoors goes a long way & is a critical asset in this arena
Am I physically & mentally fit enough to Wild Camp? Be realistic with yourself. If you scare easily, have a pre-existing health condition or lack basic survival skills, etc. - all this and possibly more will greatly hinder or prevent you from fully enjoying your trip outdoors, but this too can be overcome. Please take all of these precautions when planning a trip into the outdoors. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) = Confidence in your success.
Where do I want to Wild Camp? In this step, we will research where & when people can camp free of charge in the Wild. Research, Study & Understand all rules & regulations associated with Wild Camping in the area you plan to stay or explore. Having private lands to utilize is a great benefit as well, but planning is still paramount for any location you are familiar or unfamiliar with.
What will I need for Wild Camping? Here, I will refer you to the essential 5 C’s of Survivability which include: Cutting Tool – Combustion Device – Cover – Container – Cordage. This is a simple expression but a very wise guideline to get you thinking about what will be needed to survive in the outdoors for an extended period of time. Also, you may need a daily “Permit” of some kind on your person from the hosting lands. We will check with the appropriate office/officials on what you will need.
Do I have adequate transportation to/from your Wild Camp Locale? Routine automotive transportation & maintenance is paramount. Many times you may find yourself needing the use of your vehicle to retreat to for safety while out in wild environments or precarious predicaments. You need to provide yourself an “Out” should you need aid/safety (ie. rain/snow/ice storm, flash flooding, hurricane or tornado, animal attack or first aid, etc.) Your Vehicle can and will save your life - is your vehicle dependable?
Once I arrive at my location, where exactly do I go to Wild Camp? Many facets of planning go into this question and may/will be different for everyone. What is your Outdoor skill level? How remote do you want to be? What is the duration of my stay? Prepared for changing weather? How do I get there? How far of a hike will it be? How far is the nearest Town/Civilization? How much food/water do I need? And so many more… the list goes on and on from here. It takes time, patience, planning, motivation, persistence, mental/physical prowess and finally EXECUTION to be successful at Wild Camping.
Do I have a safety plan in place? Am I proficient enough with a Compass, GPS, App to know where I am and navigate to/from my Wild Camp? What if I get lost or my batteries die out? Does someone else know your whereabouts? Am I prepared for no Cellular Data signal before I even start my trek?
